ACE recently published a timeline for the Music Hub Investment Programme and details of the new geographic hub areas, providing the necessary framework. The new Guidance for Applicants confirms who can apply, what information is required (including financial, with templates) and how ACE will arrive at its decision.

Applications are made through ACE’s online portal. Beforehand, however, there is a Music Hub Investment Programme webinar on 28 June to answer any questions, and applicants, before submitting, must attend an Introductory Conversation (even if they have been involved with a hub previously) with ACE between 10 July and 18 August. This can be booked from 28 June.

The reorganisation of music hubs realises the vision of the National Plan for Music Education to fund fewer, more strategic hubs that cover larger geographic areas, while ensuring all children and young people have the opportunity to progress their musical interests.

ACE stresses that ‘any organisation can be a partner in more than one Music Hub area – collaboration and partnership within and between Hubs will always be welcome and is strongly encouraged.’ Further, that ‘Organisations interested in applying to become a new Hub Lead Organisation do not need to finalise their partnerships before making an application.’

ACE confirms also that the £25m capital funding for musical instruments will be distributed via the new Hubs.
