BBC Radio 3 has announced the young soloists and ensembles that will be joining its New Generation Artists scheme in September 2022.

The scheme supports young musicians at the beginning of their international careers, providing them with performance opportunities in London and across the UK.

The newly announced young artists include Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia, New Zealand-born violinist Geneva Lewis, the Berlin-based Leonkoro Quartet, Scottish jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie, and South African soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha.

For the first time in its history, the New Generation Artists also include an accordionist, Ryan Corbett from Scotland, and a countertenor, Hugh Cutting from England.
