The Benedetti Foundation has announced a series of live online sessions celebrating Baroque music.
Taking place between 26 September and 2 October, a team of international acclaimed Baroque specialists will deliver a series of live sessions over Zoom exploring the genre as part of the event. Short videos will also be available from the specialists on the Benedetti Foundation's social media pages.
Open to all ages, the professionals leading the sessions will include Rachel Podger (violin), Clifton Harrison (viola), David Watkin (cello), Carina Cosgrave (double bass), Steven Devine (harpsichord), Adrian Bending (percussion), Leo Duarte (woodwind), Ursula Paludan Monberg (brass) and Elizabeth Kenny (lute).
The schedule includes sessions on woodwind in the Baroque period, Baroque cello, the lute and the harpsichord.
Nicola Benedetti commented: ‘Enter into this world with us and you won’t look back. The more you hear and experience and learn, the more you are desperate to know. This music can unlock a freedom inside of us. I have experienced it myself and I am desperate for everyone else to experience that too. I really hope you will join our incredible team of Baroque musicians to discover more about this joyous music.’
All sessions will be recorded and will be available to watch back within three months.
