Young people aged 11-18 are invited to write a fanfare for snare drum and strings.

The winning entry will be performed by renowned percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and the Fantasia Orchestra. The composer will also win Amazon gift vouchers and Dorico Pro composing software.

‘I didn’t think I’d have much chance of winning last year,’ said Leo Sellis, who won the 15–18 years category in 2024, ‘but I did! I really encourage anyone who likes music to have a go.’

The Proms at St Jude’s festival of music and culture takes place annually in Hampstead Garden Suburb, London NW11. In 2025, it runs from 21–29 June.
