Judges revealed for Music & Drama Education Awards 2023

Nominations have closed and an expert judging panel has been announced for the Music & Drama Education Awards 2023, which will celebrate the extraordinary work in performing arts education.

An expert panel of judges for the Music & Drama Education Awards 2023 has been announced.

Judged by a panel chaired by the editor of Music Teacher magazine Harriet Richards and editor of Drama & Theatre magazine Freya Parr, the Awards will take place on 23 February 2023. 

Bringing expertise from across the music education sector, the judges in the music and crossover categories are:

  • Rose Delcour-Min - education and equalities officer at the Musicians' Union
  • Steven Bryant - head of music at Ullswater Community College
  • Doug Bott - artistic director at Open Up Music
  • Hannah Fouracre - director of music education at Arts Council England 
  • Mahaliah Edwards - violinist, educator and advocate for music and social justice
  • Rachel Hawker - director of education at Rocksteady Music School (for the Rocksteady Award for Progressive and Inclusive Music Education only)

Entries for the Awards have now closed. The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 23 February by a special guest host.
