The two-day annual festival of music is returning to Birmingham’s world-class venues, featuring performances from talented young musicians across the musical spectrum. Open to the public, the festival features a Showcase Concert on the Friday, Fringe performances in Centenary Square, and a series of free workshops for the under 25s, including in composition, jazz and vocal performance, and a specially-curated Youth Citizen’s Assembly (facilitated by industry experts) where young people can have a say on the future of the music industry.
The live music will feature jazz, soul and funk groups, and choirs and orchestras, while MFY Mentors include critically-acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Pete Latanka and conductor and composer Patrick Bailey.
Anyone under the age of 25 can sign-up for free to the workshops, and tickets for concerts are available to purchase separately or as a two-day pass. Venues include Birmingham’s Town Hall, Symphony Hall, CBSO Centre and Fringe Stages.
