Musicians recognised for educational work in New Year Honours List 2022

Sporting achievement takes centre stage, but services to music and education make an appearance on the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2022.

Music and arts educators have been recognised at MBE and BEM level in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2022, announced on 31 December 2021.

Included for their services to music and to education are:

The total number of people receiving an award on this occasion was 1,278, including 612 (47.9 per cent) women, and 15.1 per cent of the successful candidates come from an ethnic minority background. 

Each year, two honours lists are published; one for the Queen’s birthday, and one for the new year.
