The London Music Fund (LMF) has announced that Ukranian concert pianist Sasha Grynyuk will be its newest ambassador.

In this position, Grynyuk will promote the work of the charity, as well as meet and perform alongside young LMF scholars.

He will join other charity ambassadors including Nicola Benedetti CBA, YolanDa Brown, Jess Gillam MBE, Abel Selaocoe and Simon Cowell.

Grynyuk will be performing at the LMF’s upcoming fundraising concert on 20 October alongside 11-year-old cellist and LMF scholar Alex from the Tri-Borough Music Hub.

On the appointment, Sasha Grynyuk said: ‘For children who come from difficult circumstances, music is not just an extracurricular activity. Music becomes a life changing experience that feeds their self-confidence and ultimately their life aspirations. It is an honour to support the organisation devoted to giving this opportunity to as many such children as possible.’

The LMF is an independent charity founded in 2011, and is winner of the Outstanding Musical Initiative at the 2021 Music & Drama Education Awards; its mission is to transform under-served communities by enabling children to access high-quality music education.

LMF CEO Chrissy Kinsella said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Sasha to our list of Ambassadors. We share a vision of enabling every child to access a high-quality music education, regardless of their background, and I am sure he will be an inspiration to our young musicians.’
