The UniBrass Contest, the world’s only inter-university brass band competition, will return to Warwick Arts Centre for the second successive year in 2024.

The competition will host 750 participants from 25 universities on 17 February.

Talented musicians will be competing in two sections for the UniBrass Trophy and UniBrass Shield.

Each band will perform a 20-minute set in front of the judges, who will assess performances on both their level of entertainment and their musicality.

Described by Brass Bands England as ‘one of the most innovative things to happen in brass banding in over 100 years’, the contest is designed by students for students to provide an opportunity to perform and network.

This year’s contest saw the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Brass Band take home the UniBrass Trophy for the second consecutive year and Oxford University Brass Band pick up the UniBrass Shield.
