Primary
The free event will take place on 4 July, presented by Professor Nate Holder and featuring YolanDa Brown, Jay Phelps and Annemarie Anang.

Launching this year, the Why Music Festival is offering a free one-day experience aiming to foster book engagement and learning among primary school children.

Teachers are invited to attend, and will be able to dip in and out of book readings and interviews.

The event will be hosted by Nate Holder - the joint winner of the Excellence in Primary/Early Years category at the 2023 Music & Drama Education Awards for ‘Listen and Celebrate’, published by Collins Music in collaboration with fellow author Helen MacGregor. Holder has also written the ‘Why Music’ books, which this event is named after.

Guests from the music sector will host sessions throughout the day, including appearances from Sarah Jeffery, YolanDa Brown OBE DL, DJ Asad, Franklin Willis, Jay Phelps and Annemarie Anang.

Recordings of the sessions will be available for up to 7 days after the event.

Those who register will also be automatically entered into price draws to win books and instruments.

The event is sponsored by Hal Leonard and Collins Music.
