Developing confidence in KS3-4 composition

In May 2024, we looked at short, bankable activities for KS3 that would set the composition ball rolling. As a follow-up, this resource will explore the next steps, looking at ways for your students to develop, progress and improve their ideas, and grow their ambitions. Like the previous resource, we’ll move through four different areas of composing elements – rhythm, harmony, melody and structure – looking at where to go next after navigating the initial stages of composing.
