In music, the term neo-Classical can be applied to a wide range of pieces from the 19th century, where composers deliberately ‘harked back’ to music that had gone before, particularly that of the Baroque period. However, neo-Classicism was more significantly a term that referred to a style of music that formed a significant part of the output of some major composers of the first half of the 20th century, and it’s that movement that we’ll be exploring in this resource.
