In parts one and two of this four-part resource, we traced opera from the Renaissance and Baroque periods through to the Classical period. This month, we’ll see how the Romantic composers’ love of pure emotion and dramatic intensity found its true home in opera, and we’ll look at the work of some of opera’s greatest names, especially Verdi and Wagner, who became synonymous with the style.
