Haydn's ‘Surprise’ Symphony is one of the International Baccalaureate's prescribed works from 2020 and will feature in the listening paper. Students will have to answer questions about the symphony in terms of analysis, and if they are students doing music Higher level, they will need to compare elements from this work with the other prescribed work, Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
