OCR AoS1: Haydn Symphony No. 103 ‘Drum Roll’

Haydn is sometimes referred to as the ‘father of the symphony’, and this prescribed work comprises two movements from the penultimate of his extraordinary output of 104 within the form. Students will need to learn how Haydn uses the musical elements within Symphony No. 103, which techniques were consolidating the emerging symphonic norms, and which were pushing new boundaries.
