Apple has expanded the access to its Apple Education discount on equipment and resources to all music service staff.

Negotiations for this were started by UK association for music education Music Mark, who discussed the accessibility of the discount with Apple and Jigsaw24.

Music Mark said the discount will be a valuable resource for many in the sector and that it hopes this will have a ‘positive impact on the affordability and accessibility of technology-based musical learning.’

To access the discount, staff at most local-authority affiliated music services can verify their status at myunidays.com, selecting their organisation from the drop-down menu. If your organisation is not listed on Unidays, an Apple-authorised educational specialist called Jigsaw21 can take you through your purchase, including applying the discount and finding deals that may not otherwise be advertised. Email educationsales@Jigsaw24.com if this applies to you.

On the announcement Jamie Munn, development manager at Music Mark, says: ‘Extending Apple Education pricing to more providers of music education is a really positive step forward in providing young people throughout the UK with resources to explore the possibilities of music-making.’
