A new set of performance-focused guitar grade exams has been launched by Orange Learn

The examinations, ranging from Debut to Grade 8, are recognised on both the National and European Qualifications Framework, with Grades 6-8 offering UCAS points.

Each exam requires students to perform a minimum of one piece from the Orange Learn Rock Guitar graded book, with remaining pieces freely chosen to match grade-level requirements. Students can use electric, acoustic, or classical guitar for Debut to Grade 2, with electric guitar becoming the specialist instrument from Grade 3 onwards.

Orange Learn's online examination format allows students to take their exams at any time and from any location, with results available within one to five working days.

Orange Learn is the educational arm of the British-based guitar and bass amplification manufacturer Orange Amps, whose founder, Cliff Cooper, said: ‘Our vision is to offer innovative educational tools that support and inspire a lifelong passion for learning and performing music. These new performance-grade exams allow students to focus entirely on playing music.’ orangelearn.com
